With the heat, Christmas still feels a long way off. Nevertheless, Saxony's Christmas market operators have started the search for a tree for their market.

The operators of the Augustusmarkt in Dresden and the Canalettomarkt in Pirna are looking for a Christmas tree for the markets. As every year, a beautiful tree should adorn Dresden's second largest Christmas market and the Pirna market, according to a statement from the operators. In Dresden and Pirna, a fir or blue spruce is required, preferably straight and evenly overgrown.

The only difference is in the height: the tree for the Augustusmarkt should be 8 to 10 meters high, the tree for the Canalettomarkt can be 12 to 14 meters high. Anyone wishing to donate a tree free of charge should also live no further than 20 kilometers from Dresden or 15 kilometers from Pirna. The tree should also be free-standing and accessible by crane.

If you have a suitable tree to give away, please send an e-mail to info@plandesaxe.de by September 15. The costs for transportation would be covered.
