This weekend, arts and crafts and design will be on sale across 4,000 square meters. Visitors can check out the latest trends and surprising ideas.

Jewelry, ceramics, glass, and textiles: Around 140 artists, designers, and artisans from several continents will be selling their work this weekend at the Grassi Museum in Leipzig. At the Grassi Fair (October 23–25), renowned designers will be joined by young artisans and college graduates, according to the museum. The exhibitors come from Europe, South America, and East Asia.

Three Days of Design and Arts and Crafts

The fair invites visitors to browse, learn, and shop. The focus is on new design trends: for example, young product designers will present new material combinations, and shoe designers will showcase their latest collections. Works from a wide variety of fields within arts and crafts and design will be on display. High-quality one-of-a-kind pieces and small-batch productions will also be available for purchase.

In addition, eight Grassiprizes will be awarded—totaling 15,000 euros in cash prizes as well as non-cash prizes. A jury of experts will select the winners from among the 140 participating artists. They will be honored as early as Thursday evening.

Focus on Environmental Issues

Visitors can expect 4,000 square meters of exhibition space and more than 80 booths spread throughout the museum building. This year, there is a special focus on environmental issues, the responsible use of resources, and the future of materials.

The Grassimesse is over 100 years old: in 1920, Richard Graul, then director of the Museum of Decorative Arts, founded the fair. His goal was to stand up to mass-produced commercial goods.

The fair takes place annually and, according to the organizers, is considered one of Europe’s leading international sales fairs for applied arts and design. In 2025, it attracted nearly 8,700 visitors.
