Over the next few days, the Leipzig Comedy Festival will feature stars and newcomers from the cabaret and comedy scene. The festival will feature Saxon cabaret legends such as Tom Pauls and Anke Geißler, as well as stand-up comedian Jonas Greiner and Swiss clown Gardy Hutter. The Lachmesse remains true to its mission even in its 36th edition, the organizers announced. It aims not only to entertain but also to bring together different forms of humor—from classic political cabaret to music and comedy, all the way to new stage formats. The Lachmesse will open on Sunday evening (October 25) with the presentation of the Leipziger Löwenzahn Award. It will be awarded to musician and entertainer Michael Krebs. The closing event on November 1 also promises to be a musical highlight: Schlager singer Frank Schöbel is expected to perform at the Lachmesse Gala at the Leipzig Opera.
