Helene Fischer kicks off her tour in Dresden with a spectacular show. It’s a multimedia production. Thousands of fans are thrilled.

Glitz, glamour, a spectacular show, and big emotions: Helene Fischer is back on stage with a spectacular and grandiose performance. In front of some 35,000 fans in Dresden, it seems as though the singer never left. After a nearly three-year break from touring, the pop icon is kicking off her “360°” stadium tour. On Wednesday evening, she treated fans in Dresden to a perfectly choreographed spectacle: she took the stage with golden hair, a golden microphone, dressed in leather and vinyl, surrounded by countless dancers, and immersed in special effects like fire, lightning, pyrotechnics, and fog.

Countless cameras capture her performance and, with the help of several giant screens at the center of the multi-story stage installation, turn it into a multimedia spectacle. The 41-year-old performs her greatest hits from nearly 20 years of her stage career at Dresden’s Rudolf Harbig Stadium, including “Atemlos durch die Nacht,” “Herzbeben,” and “Null auf 100.” According to the organizers, around 35,000 fans are in attendance at the nearly sold-out stadium.

“I can only say one thing: I wouldn’t be here today, 20 years later, in a stadium playing this tour if you all weren’t here,” Fischer tells the audience. In addition to a truly “breathless” show—in which even the numerous costume changes are seamlessly bridged by impressively choreographed interludes and the band—she also finds time for fan moments: A 21-year-old who grew up with the pop icon’s songs and asks for a photo is invited on stage by Fischer. She then reads out emotional messages from fans.

Multi-level stage setup in the stadium

The tour’s name, “360°,” delivers exactly what it promises. Helene Fischer performs in every corner of the soccer stadium: The pop icon walks far into the audience on several catwalks, flies around on wire ropes, and delivers one hit after another.

With this setup, Fischer fulfilled her “desire to perform in the midst of the concertgoers and thus be as close as possible to all spectators,” as her concert agency announced in advance.

The singer, who became a mother for the second time last year, is embarking on an open-air stadium tour through July 17 and will perform in major arenas—including in Frankfurt, Cologne, Berlin, Stuttgart, and Munich, as well as in Vienna, Zurich, and Amsterdam. She is celebrating her stage anniversary with this tour: in 2026, her debut album “Von hier bis unendlich” will turn 20.

According to the concert organizers, Dresden was not initially part of the tour but was added to the itinerary due to high demand. There will also be additional concerts in Hamburg and Hanover.

A little bit princess, a little bit “femme fatale”

Fischer is known for extraordinary stage productions and has previously collaborated with “Cirque du Soleil.” At the tour kickoff in Dresden, the pop icon appears just as we know her: a bit of a princess, a bit of a “femme fatale”—sometimes carried on people’s hands, sometimes lasciviously lounging on a golden throne. With great pathos, she evokes grand emotions. The fans respond with applause and sing-alongs.

In 2005, at the age of 19, Fischer recorded her first song, “Feuer am Horizont,” in the studio, she recalls. The song is featured just as much as the new single “Heute Nacht.” The song reached number one a week after its release in May. After a 20-year career, Fischer thus actually topped the German charts for the first time as a solo artist. Her most famous hit, “Atemlos durch die Nacht,” had reached number three in 2012 and only claimed the top spot at the end of 2023 in a re-release featuring rapper Shirin David. According to her record label, Fischer is currently working on her ninth studio album.
