The handball players of BSV Sachsen Zwickau were unable to score any bonus points in their fight to stay in the Bundesliga. Coach Norman Rentsch's charges lost 16:33 (11:17) at second-placed Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. Despite their 17th defeat of the season, the Zwickau side remain three points clear of the first relegation place. Alicia Stolle (6 goals) and Emma Olsson (5) played the biggest part in Dortmund's success. Ema Hrvatin (6/4) scored the most goals for the team from Saxony.
The visitors were only able to hold their own against the favorites in the early stages. After drawing 2:2 (4th), Dortmund pulled 5:2 ahead (6th) to 14:8 (22nd). Just six minutes after the restart, the home side went ten goals ahead for the first time at 21:11 and then did not give Zwickau the slightest chance. The visitors only scored five goals after the break and resigned themselves to their fate.
