The handball players of BSV Sachsen Zwickau have reached the quarter-finals of the DHB Cup. The Bundesliga club from Saxony came out on top 30:23 (14:13) against second-division side Füchse Berlin. Laura Szabo (7/2), Tereza Eksteinova, Kaho Nakayama (6 each) and Arwen Gorb (5) played the biggest part in their progression to the last eight. Valeria Martin Negrin (7/4) scored the most goals for Berlin.
The game was close for a long time. Up to 22:22 (49'), the underdogs could hope for a sensation, although Berlin's Kristina Fodjo (22') was shown a red card. It was only in the final ten minutes that the Bundesliga club made the most of its physical superiority and ultimately secured an unchallenged victory.
