1. FC Kaiserslautern will be without striker Ivan Prtajin for the coming weeks. The 29-year-old suffered a torn muscle bundle in his thigh in the 6-1 defeat to Hertha BSC in the round of 16 of the DFB Cup, as the Red Devils announced ahead of the home game in the 2nd Bundesliga against Dynamo Dresden on Saturday (1.00 pm/Sky).
Coach Torsten Lieberknecht is under pressure in the clash with the newly promoted side - even if the 52-year-old did not really want to go into this topic in the run-up to the game against the Saxons.
Lieberknecht has confidence in the team and in himself
"I don't have the feeling that my team will let me down. We've already shown what we can do this season. I have confidence in my team, in myself and in my coaching team that we will overcome a situation like this," explained Lieberknecht.
For FCK, who have only won one of their last six competitive matches, the game against Dresden is a bit of a game of direction. "The managers and I have already spoken to the team in Berlin. You have frustration inside you, that's quite normal. But you have to tick it off and flip the switch now," said Lieberknecht.
In addition to Prtajin, the Palatinate will also be without the injured Simon Asta, Kenny Prince Redondo, Ji-Soo Kim and Mahir Emreli against Dynamo.
