Aue also failed to score in their fourth league encounter with Verl. The fragile promotion dreams of the violets, who disappointed in East Westphalia, are as good as over.

SC Verl put an end to the faint promotion dreams of FC Erzgebirge Aue's footballers. On the 33rd matchday of the 3rd division, the mostly disappointing team of Aue coach Pavel Dotchev lost 1:3 (0:1). Niclas Nadj (6th), Lars Lokotsch (49th) and Aue's Marco Schikora with an own goal (54th) scored for the hosts in front of 2005 spectators at the Sportclub Arena in Verl. Steffen Nkansah only managed to score the consolation goal (76'). Aue thus conceded their fourth defeat in their fourth league encounter with Verl.

Nadj gave the hosts an early lead in the sixth minute after a fine combination. Aue, on the other hand, were disappointing in the first half and failed to create any goalscoring threat.

The Saxons also conceded an early goal in the second half. Former Zwickau player Lokotsch grabbed the ball just past the halfway line, left three Aue opponents standing and lobbed the ball past Aue goalkeeper Martin Männel into the goal (49'). Three minutes later, Berkan Taz's third goal was disallowed for offside, but Schikora's own goal gave Aue an early lead (54'). Aue only created scoring opportunities after conceding the third goal, but only managed a consolation goal through Nkansah.
