Werder want to continue good series with former coach

Werder Bremen want to continue their good run of five games in a row without defeat in their reunion with former coach Ole Werner. "The aim is to carry on exactly as before," said Bremen coach Horst Steffen about the successful phase before the international break.

However, Steffen is aware of the difficulty of the task at second-placed Leipzig. "They're already doing really well," said Steffen, who has particular respect for the Saxons' many fast players. It was therefore important to avoid losing the ball easily. "Whoever makes fewer mistakes in the build-up has a good chance of winning the game," said Steffen.

Steffen himself has not yet had any contact with his predecessor. "We haven't met in person yet," said Steffen, who praised Werner's "great work" in Leipzig.
