Basketball Bundesliga club Syntainics MBC has secured Collin Welp for the upcoming season. The 27-year-old small forward has extended his contract, the Syntainics announced.
Welp, the son of European champion and NBA pro Christian Welp, transferred from BG Göttingen to MBC last season and played in all 48 competitive games in the Bundesliga, the ENBL, and the BBL Cup. The 2.06-meter-tall power forward averaged 6.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.
Welp also made his debut for the German national team in November 2025. He scored four points in the 83–64 victory over Cyprus. MBC coach Silvano Poropat believes Welp’s athletic potential is “far from exhausted” and is looking forward to seeing the next steps in his development; last season, Welp made 55 three-pointers.
