Basketball Bundesliga club Syntainics MBC has added a dual-license player to its squad. The 17-year-old point guard Abdul Wafa joins the MBC. The squad is now complete with twelve professionals and two dual-license players. Wafa, who was born in Kabul and grew up in Dessau, has signed a two-year contract.
He will regularly take part in training with the Bundesliga team and will primarily gain match practice in the NBBL team of the Central German Basketball Academy (MBA) and with cooperation partner USC Leipzig in the 1st Regionalliga Südost.
On Thursday, the MBC completed its squad with the signing of Khyri Thomas. The 29-year-old American is currently still playing for Calgary Surge in the Canadian professional league CEBL and has signed a one-year contract with the German cup winners. At the MBC, the 1.91-metre-tall forward and wing player is planned as a so-called swingman.
