Essen react a few days after the dismantling against VfL Wolfsburg. The team at the bottom of the Bundesliga changes ahead of the match in Leipzig.

Women's Bundesliga club SGS Essen has parted ways with coach Thomas Gerstner and team manager Robert Augustin. The club's management came to this decision after a detailed analysis of the current situation, according to a statement. The club lost 8-0 to league leaders VfL Wolfsburg at the weekend.

Co-trainer Jessica Wissmann will be in charge of the team's training sessions until further notice and will also coach the Essen team at RB Leipzig on Friday (18:30/DAZN and MagentaSport).

Both Gerstner and Augustin took up their respective positions at the start of the season.
