SC Magdeburg has also won its 23rd competitive game in a row. In front of 6,600 spectators, Magdeburg defeated bottom-of-the-table SC DHfK Leipzig 29:28 (18:12). Matthias Musche was Magdeburg's top scorer with seven goals, while Matej Klima scored the most for Leipzig with nine. Magdeburg remain top of the table with just one point dropped, Leipzig last with five points.
Magdeburg again had three goalkeepers in the line-up, as in the cup against Flensburg, and started with Matej Mandic in goal against the bottom club in the table. SCM initially had problems with Leipzig's defending, but the visitors made too many mistakes in attack and were only rarely able to capitalize. As a result, the favorites gradually increased their lead to six goals by the break.
Magdeburg weakened in the second half
Magdeburg came out of the break unfocused, Leipzig reduced the deficit and was even able to equalize. The SCM called a timeout (47'), stopped Leipzig's trend, but did not regain control of the game. Magdeburg led by two goals again (28:26/58), but did not manage to decide the game early. Leipzig was unable to equalize after Magdeburg lost possession seconds before the end.
