SC Magdeburg can clinch group victory in the Champions League ahead of time against Barcelona. The next home game is even more important for coach Wiegert.

SC Magdeburg can wrap up the preliminary round group early with a win in the top clash against FC Barcelona. "It's fantastic to be playing for the group win," said SCM coach Bennet Wiegert ahead of the home game against the Catalans on Thursday (20:45/Dyn). "We'd love to win the group because we've earned it."

Even though both teams have already qualified for the round of 16, Wiegert sees no reason to let up. On the one hand, his team has a responsibility to the spectators, and on the other, "it's a matter of prestige against Barcelona," said the coach, "we're determined to win games."
