SC DHfK Leipzig loses narrowly in Gummersbach

The SC DHfK Leipzig handball team have suffered their third successive defeat in the Bundesliga. The team of coach Runar Sigtryggsson lost 31:32 (13:14) at VfL Gummersbach. Luca Witzke, Franz Semper and Andri Runarsson were the best scorers for SC DHfK, who finished twelfth, with seven goals apiece.

Three days after the 24:39 defeat in Kiel, Leipzig's efforts to make amends were clear to see. VfL seized the momentum and already looked like the sure winners at 32:28 (58'). However, the visitors did not give up and fought their way back to 31:32 through Semper with 22 seconds remaining. However, Gummersbach did not allow any more.
