National volleyball player Sarah Straube will leave Dresdner SC and move abroad. The German cup winners and championship runners-up made the announcement one day after losing the final against Schweriner SC.
The Suhl native joined the DSC talent pool at VC Olympia Dresden at the age of 13 and went through all the junior teams, with which she won several German championship titles. As a member of the follow-up squad with a dual playing right, the set-piece player made the leap into the first division squad at the start of the 2019/20 season and signed her first professional contract with the Dresden club a year later.
Under the wing of Alexander Waibl, she has developed into a permanent fixture and key player in the team in recent years, also leading the team onto the pitch as captain in the past two seasons. The 23-year-old also made the leap into the German national team.
