The transfer of goalkeeper Janis Blaswich from RB Leipzig to Bayer Leverkusen is apparently a done deal. The two Bundesliga clubs have reached an agreement, Sky reported. The 34-year-old is due to undergo the obligatory medical check on Friday. A basic transfer fee of two million euros will be due, it was also reported.
Multiple media outlets had recently reported on Leverkusen's interest in Blaswich. He is set to replace long-serving regular keeper Lukas Hradecky at the Werkself, who was only planned as number two behind new signing Mark Flekken and is about to move to French club AS Monaco. The 2024 double winner signed Dutchman Flekken this summer from English club FC Brentford.
Blaswich's contract in Leipzig runs until 2026, and he would also only be a substitute at the Saxons. Last season, the goalkeeper played on loan for RB Salzburg in Austria.
