The Niners Chemnitz basketball team has recorded its first away win of the Bundesliga season. The team of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore won 90:83 (41:35) in front of 4,249 spectators at MLP Academics Heidelberg. Kevin Yebo stood out for Chemnitz with 20 points and ten rebounds.
Heidelberg got off to the better start, but Chemnitz gradually took control of the game from midway through the first quarter. With its aggressive defense and strong drive to the basket, it compensated for its poor shooting percentage from beyond the arc and led by double digits for the first time (37:27 in the 16th minute).
The Niners had the game under control up to 55:48 in the 27th minute, before the intensity in defense dropped noticeably. Heidelberg sensed its chance and took the lead for the first time since the opening spell (72:71 in the 33rd minute). After Pastore called a timeout, the visitors stabilized again. Led by the strong Yebo, they pulled away decisively in the final spell.
