The Niners Chemnitz basketball team remains the measure of all things in the German league. The players of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore won their game at Telekom Baskets Bonn by 85:77 (39:38) on Friday to consolidate their top position. Aher Uguak (22), Jeff Garret (18), Tylor Ongwae and Kevin Yebo (10 apiece) played the biggest part in the win. Thomas Kennedy (26), Brian Fobbs (19), Christian Sengfelder (14) and Glynn Watson Jr. (10) scored the most points for Bonn.
After an evenly poised start, Chemnitz pulled away from 42:41 (23') to 50:42 (26') at the start of the third quarter. After that, the club from Saxony did not allow its opponents to close the gap and had already sealed victory by 71:59 with five minutes left on the clock. The front-runners' greatest trump card was their shooting percentage from beyond the arc. Nine out of 22 attempts landed in Bonn's basket. The hosts needed 35 attempts for their eight goals.
