Bundesliga basketball club Niners Chemnitz has recorded its fourth win in a row in the Eurocup. The team led by Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore came out on top at London Lions by 78:70 (40:41) and defended sixth place ahead of the Londoners with its seventh win of the season. Kostja Mushidi was Chemnitz's best scorer with 22 points.
The Niners started the game with a lot of energy and quickly pulled 23:12 (9th minute) ahead against the initially sluggish home side. However, the Londoners increasingly gained an advantage under the basket in the second quarter. As a result, they turned the deficit into a narrow lead at the break.
After the break, Chemnitz stepped up its intensity in defense and so regained control of the game. They stretched their lead to 65:57 (33') at the start of the final quarter. Although the home side fought its way back to 68:69 (36'), the Niners kept a cool head in the final spell and ran out deserved winners.
