The Chemnitz Bundesliga basketball team overcomes a weak start in Bamberg, but then completely loses the thread. The defense in particular disappoints.

The Niners Chemnitz basketball team has suffered a setback in the German league. The team of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore lost 82:96 (50:44) at Bamberg Baskets in front of 5,700 spectators on Sunday and so missed out on its fourth league win in succession. Amadou Sow was the Niners' best scorer with 23 points.

Chemnitz got off to a disastrous start to the game. They shot hastily in offense and had great problems with the home side's fast breaks, which produced an 18:0 run to take a 20:4 lead (7th minute). The Niners then stepped up the pressure in defense and increased their shooting percentage from beyond the arc. Corey Davis Jr., who was outstanding in the first half, tied the scores at 34:34 in the 15th minute and the visitors even took the lead by the break.

After the break, Chemnitz again missed the start and allowed Bamberg to produce a 13:2 run to make it 57:52 in the 25th minute. The Niners did not find their rhythm after that either and played into the home side's hands with unnecessary turnovers. As a result, Bamberg ultimately ran out unchallenged winners on its home debut of the season.
