The basketball players of Syntainics MBC have made a change to their coaching staff. Assistant coach Aleksandar Scepanovic will leave the German cup winners for Croatia for family reasons. Brett Nomm will take over for him alongside Head Coach Marco Ramondino. This was announced by the MBC.
The 31-year-old Estonian will take his place on the bench in the top game against third-placed ratiopharm Ulm next Saturday (8 p.m./Dyn) and complete the coaching staff alongside second assistant coach Christopher Schreiber and athletic trainer Simone Controne.
"The MBC's door is always open"
"Over the past two months, I've got to know Aleksandar as a loyal, professional and competent colleague who has made it much easier for me to settle in at Weißenfels. We have to respect the fact that he has other priorities in life at the moment. He leaves big shoes to fill. The door at Syntaincs MBC will always be open for him in the future," said Ramondino, who can announce a change himself.
The Wolves head coach is now also the first assistant coach of the Italian national team in a dual role. This was announced by the Federazione Italiana Pallacanestro (FIP) in Rome. Together with the former Munich native Adriano Vertemati (head coach of APU Udine) and Iacopo Squarcina (assistant coach at Derthona Basket), he will support the new national team coach Luca Banchi, a former Bamberg coach.
