Basketball Bundesliga club Syntainics MBC has completed its squad with the signing of Khyri Thomas. The 29-year-old American is currently still playing for Calgary Surge in the Canadian professional league CEBL and has signed a one-year contract with the German cup winners. At the MBC, the 1.91-meter-tall forward and wing player is planned as a so-called swingman.
Thomas is scheduled to arrive in Weißenfels on August 25 at the latest. In addition to 42 games for the Detroit Pistons and Houston Rockets with an average of 4.1 points, the former NBA pro also has numerous notable stops in Europe: Between 2021 and 2024, he played for Bilbao Basket and San Pablo Burgos in Spain, Tofas Bursa and Petkimspor Izmir in Turkey as well as Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel and in the Euroleague. In January of this year, Thomas was presented by the Niners Chemnitz as a new signing, but he returned to his US homeland for family reasons before his first assignment.
