Christian Titz from 1. FC Magdeburg will become the new coach of second division soccer club Hannover 96, according to a media report. As reported by "Kicker", the 54-year-old is already in the capital of Lower Saxony. The contract is expected to be signed this Saturday.
Titz worked in Magdeburg for four and a half years, during which time he led the former European Cup winners from the relegation battle in the 3rd division to the top flight of the 2nd Bundesliga. He will now bring this continuity and his attacking style of play to Hannover. Before his time in Magdeburg, Titz had managed Hamburger SV, among others.
The 96ers recently missed their big goal of returning to the first division for the sixth time in a row. The club employed three coaches last season alone: Stefen Leitl, André Breitenreiter and Lars Barlemann.
