The club from Weißenfels won its game at BG Göttingen by 92:88 (51:41) on Thursday and can no longer be displaced from that position thanks to its eleventh win of the season. Johnathan Stove (21) sealed victory with two free throws shortly before the end. Alongside top scorer Stove, Charles Callison (17) and Martin Breunig (12) played the biggest part in the visitors' success. Umoja Gibson (20), Bodie Hume (18) and Osaro Jürgen Rich (12) scored the most points for the club from Lower Saxony.

After an evenly poised start, the club from Weißenfels took the initiative. The club from Central Germany stretched the gap from 18:18 (8th) to 23:18 (10th) and 39:31 (16th) to 59:43 (23rd). The visitors were able to stretch their lead into the final period. However, Göttingen fought its way back to 88:90 and had the chance to equalize through Gibson. His shot from close range missed the basket in Weißenfels. With ten seconds remaining, Stove, who scored seven of his 21 points in the final quarter, held his nerve and converted both free throws to tie the scores.
