Lead by the outstanding Spencer Reaves, the MBC Syntainics basketball team has gained confidence for the upcoming cup semi-final against champions Bayern Munich. The club from Weißenfels defeated fourth-placed Rasta Vechta 91:83 (48:36) in the Bundesliga game. Reaves contributed 33 points to the Central German club's tenth win of the season. Brandon Rudolph scored 20 points for Vechta.
After a mixed opening spell, the players of Head Coach Janis Gailitis turned on the heat and produced a 13:2 run to turn a 15:16 deficit into a 28:18 lead in the space of five minutes. The home side stretched that lead to 45:31. Thanks to their strong shooting percentage of 46 percent from the field, they never got into trouble again. By 67:46 in the 28th minute, the club from Central Germany had taken the preliminary decision. It then faces Bayern at home in the BBL Cup on Saturday.
