The Syntainics MBC has applied to host the final tournament of the European North Basketball League ENBL. This was reported by the "Mitteldeutsche Zeitung". In the international competition, the basketball Bundesliga club from Weißenfels is on the verge of making it to the Final Four, which is to be held from April 21 to 23.
"It is realistic that the decision will be between us and Thessaloniki," said manager Martin Geissler and expects costs in the mid five-figure range. The Greeks narrowly lost their quarter-final first leg in Warsaw, while the MBC won clearly in Groningen. This means that the advantage of hosting the final tournament currently lies with the MBC.
The MBC last hosted a Final Four in Germany. Last year, it hosted the semi-finals and final of the BBL Cup. They first defeated the big favorites Bayern Munich and then Bamberg to lift the trophy.
