Two away defeats, twice only 1:1 after trailing in home games: Zweitligist 1. FC Magdeburg goes into the second international break of the season with four winless games. No wonder coach Christian Titz has few positive feelings at the moment. "We have indeed brought a point, but it feels from the performance, as if one had left two," described the 52-year-old after the draw against Karlsruhe SC the situation.
As already against Nuremberg, Paderborn and Schalke it was an unnecessary Magdeburg error, which brought the Titz eleven in arrears: Daniel Heber's mispass without opponent pressure used Fabian Schleusener to a goal from about 45 meters. Afterwards, however, 1. FC Magdeburg dominated to such an extent that after the final whistle not only Luc Castaignos, scorer of the equalizer, was annoyed about the numerous missed chances. "We have to close the game. If we dominate so, we still have to make the winning goal," explained the center forward.
Titz considered it "remarkable how the team has tried over the entire playing time to bring our game through." Nevertheless, the FCM wants to work on many small things during the international break. In addition to intensive running sessions, that is, for example, "in the end zone creating scoring chances, but also the conclusion of the scoring chances," Titz explained.
