Magdeburg interim solution may bear fruit

Interim coach Petrik Sander wants to secure the first home win of the season with 1. FC Magdeburg. He wants to give his players a good talking-to after the goalless draw in Darmstadt. "If you can make a start like that from this game, which we did, which shouldn't be overrated, but nevertheless. If you can't draw strength from that, if you can't draw confidence from that, then I don't know how else you're going to do it," said Sander ahead of Sunday's game (1.30pm/Sky) against Preußen Münster.

"Maybe you can play a board game, Halma or Mensch-Ärgere-dich-nicht or something like that. You can do that when things are going well, because then it doesn't matter what you do. The important thing is that we prepare the players well and encourage the boys," emphasized Sander. The 64-year-old will be on the FCM touchline together with Pascal Ibold. "We are convinced that this interim solution can bear fruit. We have already felt the spirit of optimism that we wanted to create in training," said sporting director Otmar Schork recently.
