After top scorer Marta Levinska, another top performer has extended her contract in Dresden. There is also news about a home-grown player.

Bundesliga volleyball club Dresdner SC can continue to rely on Slovenian international Lorena Lorber Fijok and thus on another key player. As the German cup winners and championship runners-up announced, the outside attacker has extended her contract by a further year until 2026. The second setter Larissa Winter, who has trained in Dresden since 2016 and has been part of the first division squad since 2023, will also remain with the club until 2026.

The Elbe club had already signed contract extensions with top scorer Marta Levinska and libera Patricia Nestler.

Coach praises energy and ambition

Lorena Lorber Fijok moved to the Elbe last summer from Greek first-division club AO Thiras. The 22-year-old impressed in her first Bundesliga season and became a crowd favorite thanks to her emotionality. Her performances earned her a total of ten MVP awards.

"Lorena brings incredible energy to the court. She is a fighter with enormous athletic and mental potential," said coach Alexander Waibl. "She is very ambitious, curious and has high expectations of herself. Her development is impressive."
