RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose surprises in the Champions League against Manchester City with Nicolas Seiwald in the starting eleven. The newcomer from Salzburg, who has hardly played a role so far, moves into central midfield for playmaker Kevin Kampl. The veteran, who had complained of hip problems after the 2:2 against Bayern Munich, is initially only on the bench against the defending champions on Wednesday evening. At the back right Lukas Klostermann replaces as expected the injured Benjamin Henrichs.
In the English champion Bernardo Silva surprisingly celebrates his comeback behind the only point Erling Haaland. Star coach Pep Guardiola also surprised with his nomination in central midfield. Alongside Rodri, 18-year-old Rico Lewis comes into play. For this, the expensive purchases Matheus Nunes and Mateo Kovacevic sit only on the bench.
