So what! Leipzig's football coach Marco Rose spilled a juicy secret about handball goalkeeper Silvio Heinevetter in a TV show. "Heine said in the preliminary interview that he once dated my wife," said Rose on the MDR show Riverboat, after the coach was asked by presenter Joachim Llambi about his relationship with his neighbor Heinevetter.
"I wouldn't go that far," replied the 40-year-old Heinevetter. Rose countered: "You were at the movies with her." Heinevetter responded: "If you call that a date, then yes."
Rose has been together for 25 years with former handball player Nikola Pietzsch (now Rose), whom the 48-year-old married in Mallorca in the summer. In 1999, Rose played third division soccer for VfB Leipzig, while his current wife (49) played in the handball Bundesliga in Leipzig.
"We've been watching and checking each other out for 25 years," said Rose about the wedding. The idea came about while strolling through town with his daughter. "My daughter is 16 years old, so you stop at the jeweler, at least briefly. We talked and then there was a nice ring," said Rose. It was a sign in connection with his daughter, he revealed: "I'd had the idea for a while, of course."
