RB Leipzig will play their final Champions League group game against Young Boys Bern with a B team, as expected. As announced by coach Marco Rose, Peter Gulacsi will be in goal and will also wear the captain's armband. Christopher Lenz, Fabio Carvalho and Nicolas Seiwald will also make a rare starting appearance. Stars Xavi Simons and Loïs Openda will be given a break and will initially sit on the bench.
The game on Wednesday evening (18:45/DAZN) will only have statistical value. RB had already secured second place in Group G and thus a place in the round of 16. Bern are safely in third place and will continue their European Cup campaign in the Europa League in the new year.
