With a win at Dynamo Dresden, Fortuna Düsseldorf want to further increase the gap to the bottom of the table. After the redemptive first win in the sixth game under Markus Anfang in the previous week, the coach is demanding to travel to Dresden "with a broad chest". "We have to stick to our guns and bring our content onto the pitch with conviction," said the 51-year-old ahead of Sunday's game (1.30pm/Sky).
He added that his team had used the training week to continue working on their processes against the ball. "We want to be more active in midfield and attacking pressing and put pressure on our opponents. When playing with the ball, we want to move forward purposefully and create scoring chances," said Anfang, outlining his approach against the 16th-placed team in the table. Only four points currently separate the 13th-placed Düsseldorf side from third-bottom Dresden.
Fortuna will be without the injured Matthias Zimmermann, Tim Rossmann and Sotiris Alexandropoulos as well as Anouar El Azzouzi, who is suspended. Anfang left it open on Friday who will come in for the 24-year-old. "We have a few options to replace him. Shinta Appelkamp or Sima Suso can both play the position. However, we can also shift around a little more variably to fill the position at the moment. We'll see who fits in best."
