RB Leipzig have found what they are looking for in Spain in their search for a successor to Emil Forsberg. According to dpa information, the Bundesliga club is pressing ahead with the signing of Bryan Zaragoza. The 22-year-old is currently under contract with FC Granada, but can be released due to a release clause. Spanish media are already reporting that Leipzig have offered Zaragoza a contract until 2028. The clause is also said to be worth 14 million euros.
Zaragoza, who is just 1.64 meters tall, made his debut for the Spanish national team in October and is considered the high-flyer of the La Liga season. Primarily deployed on the left wing, Zaragoza would add a new flavor to Leipzig's play and possibly add a little more unpredictability.
However, taking on Forsberg's legacy is a mammoth task. The Swedish international is one of the cup winners' most iconic figures and has been at Leipzig since January 2015. At the start of next year, the 32-year-old will move to sister club New York and wind down his career there.
