RB Leipzig starts the Champions League group stage with an away game at Young Boys Bern. The appearance in Switzerland on Sept. 19 (6:45 p.m.) will be followed by a showdown with defending champions Manchester City on Oct. 4 (9 p.m.) and another home game against Red Star Belgrade on Oct. 25 (9 p.m.). That was announced by UEFA two days after the draw was made on Saturday morning.
The second legs begin for the German soccer cup winners with the game in Belgrade on November 7 (9 p.m.), followed by the trip to Manchester (November 28/9 p.m.). At the English champion RB had conceded a quite painful defeat in the preseason with 0:7. For the conclusion of the group stage Young Boys Bern comes to Leipzig on December 13 (18.45 clock).
