The home debut of coach Jens Härtel at FC Erzgebirge Aue remained winless. The Saxons could only manage a 0-0 draw against VfL Osnabrück in the 3rd Football League, meaning there was no win in Härtel's second competitive match after losing 2-1 at Hannover 96 II to start the second half of the season. It was a different story for Lower Saxony, who are now unbeaten in four games under new coach Marco Antwerpen.
Härtel was forced to make changes following the suspensions of Maxim Burghardt (fifth yellow card) and Kilian Jakob (yellow-red), bringing on Boris Tashchy and Ricky Bornschein instead.
