Just before the start of the second half of the season, third-division soccer club Dynamo Dresden underlined its strong form. At the end of the nine-day training camp in Belek, Turkey, the Saxons defeated 1. FC Kaiserslautern 3:0 (2:0) on Wednesday. Jakob Lemmer (7'), Tymotheusz Pucharcz (43') with an own goal and Jonas Oehmichen (81') scored the goals in the duel with the second division club.
The mature performance over long stretches against the rivals playing one division higher once again underlined SGD's promotion ambitions. Coach Markus Anfang's verdict on the training camp was correspondingly positive. "We set priorities and worked on things that were difficult for us in the first half of the season," explained the 49-year-old ahead of the match. Above all, we need to improve our goal threat. "We get the players into good positions, but haven't been effective enough so far," said Anfang. In the test matches against Magdeburg (2:2) and now against Kaiserslautern, that was already much better.
