Dynamo Dresden have once again celebrated a sense of achievement. The second-division soccer club, which has been winless in the league for five games, recorded an unchallenged 5:1 (3:0) test match victory against third-division side SSV Jahn Regensburg. Tony Menzel (12th minute) put Dynamo ahead before Luca Herrmann (16th) headed home and Jan-Henrik Marx (43rd) added to his tally from a free-kick. After the changeover, SSV reduced the deficit with a penalty from Phil Beckhoff (47). Dynamo captain Stefan Kutschke (54') restored the gap. Lars Bünning (71) marked the final score.
The Elbe club, who traveled to Auerbach with only 15 professionals and played with Vinko Sapina for the first time after his suspension, had the game well under control after taking an early two-goal lead. However, they were also a little lucky that Regensburg's follow-up goal was disallowed for offside (38'). Marx's goal to make it 3:0 was worth seeing as he struck a free-kick from 25 meters directly under the crossbar.
After the break, the referee pointed to the spot after a handball. This allowed Regensburg to reduce the deficit. However, striker Kutschke increased the lead to 4:1 after a quick ball combination before Bünning was on hand with a header.
