Dynamo Dresden extended its lead in the 3rd Football League with a win in the Saxony derby against Erzgebirge Aue. The third-division soccer team from Dresden defeated the visitors from the Erzgebirge with a score of 2:1 (1:0). Aue was behind early after an own goal by Niko Vukancic in the ninth minute. Dresden's Dennis Borkowski (85th) increased the lead in front of 31,834 spectators at the sold-out Rudolf Harbig Stadium before Marcel Bär (90.+3) scored the equalizer. Dynamo had to do without Tom Berger from the 88th minute after yellow-red card.
Dynamo sat down with the fifth victory in a row as the leader with four points on chaser SSV Ulm. Aue slipped to third place after its first defeat of the season, level on points with Ulm. "We had had our problems in the first half, especially after conceding the early goal. In the second half, we allowed almost nothing. The game was open, a point would not have been undeserved," said Pavel Dotchev in the MDR.
The hosts started more sorted and worked out so early the first scoring chances. When Vukancic (9.) wanted to save an entry from Dynamo striker Stefan Kutschke, he deflected the ball at the short post unstoppable past his own goalkeeper Martin Männel. Aue had the chance to equalize thanks to Marcel Bär (13.), but his shot went over. On the opposite side, the agile Tom Zimmerschied (25th) missed the 2:0 in a promising position.
