Bundesliga volleyball club Dresdner SC is pressing ahead with its personnel planning for the new season. The six-time German champions introduced their first new signing, Patricia Nestler, at a press conference on Tuesday. The 22-year-old is the first home-grown player in the club's history to return to her home club after four years. She moves to the Elbe from the Rote Raben Vilsbiburg and signs a one-year contract.
The Radebeul-born libera received her entire training in the DSC talent factory of VC Olympia Dresden. She made her debut in the 2nd Bundesliga at the age of 14 and also won a total of ten medals at German junior championships with the DSC youth team. Nestler took part in the World Championships with the junior national team in 2017 and the European Championships in 2017 and 2018. In the summer of 2020, the reception and defense specialist moved to SSC Palmberg Schwerin, where she gained a lot of experience alongside national player Anna Pogany. Last summer, she moved to Vilsbiburg on loan to take on more responsibility as first libero.
