Now they've done it on their home turf, too. The Dresden women secured a decisive victory over underdog TSV Flacht. One player made her debut.

On the fourth matchday of the Bundesliga, the Dresdner SC women’s volleyball team confidently fulfilled their task against the Binder Blaubären TSV Flacht, winning 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25–17). In front of 2,220 spectators, this marked the first home win of the season for the six-time German champions.

DSC coach Alexander Waibl had made some lineup changes. At the libero position, Katerina Georgiadis—who was signed just a few days ago—made her debut in a DSC jersey. The Canadian national team player is set to replace captain Patricia Nestler, who will miss the entire season due to a cruciate ligament injury.

A moment of silence for a former DSC official

After a mixed first set, the hosts found their rhythm starting in the second set. Despite numerous serving errors, they were superior, particularly in attack and in blocking. Mackenzie Foley was the top scorer with 16 points and was awarded the gold MVP medal at the end.

The match began with a moment of silence for Wolfgang Söllner, who passed away just under two weeks ago. The attorney served for many years as CEO of the DSC women’s team, as president of the entire club, as president of the Saxon Volleyball Sports Association (SSVB), and as vice president of the German Volleyball Federation (DVV).
