Bundesliga volleyball club Dresdner SC continues to rely on its own young talent. As the German cup winners and Champions League participants announced this Thursday, middle blocker Florentine Rosemann has now received her first professional contract. The 18-year-old has signed a contract for the next two years.
Born in Dresden, she was trained at VC Olympia Dresden's in-house talent academy and joined the first division squad at the start of this season with a double playing right. She made her first official appearance in the Bundesliga match against Allianz MTV Stuttgart. The talented player has since also made her debut in the Champions League and was part of the starting line-up in the two matches against Polish side Lodz and top Italian side Conegliano.
Rosemann has also attracted international attention: she was named best attacker at the U17 European Championships in 2023. DSC coach Alexander Waibl explained: "Florentine has everything it takes to be a really good middle blocker. She is physically very present and has great potential not only in the block, but also in attack."
