One week after their victory in the cup quarter-final against Ladies in Black Aachen, the volleyball players of Dresdner SC left no stone unturned in the Bundesliga and once again won 3:0 (25:21, 25:20, 32:30) against the team from North Rhine-Westphalia. They thus secured three points and displaced Aachen from fourth place in the table.
Despite the tough Champions League match last Wednesday in Lodz, Poland, which the German cup winners had surprisingly won 3:1, the DSC ladies quickly regained their focus in everyday life in the Bundesliga. They served very powerfully in front of 2,685 spectators and worked sacrificially in block and court defense.
Marta Levinska excelled
Every time things got difficult, diagonal attacker Marta Levinska got the ball and the Latvian international buried it in the opposing court. She also proved to be the most successful scorer with 21 points and was honored as the most valuable player after the game. Overall, the hosts were a touch superior to the Ladies in Black in almost all elements.
In the third set, the DSC ladies could not quite keep up the level, but they fended off three set points from their opponents and even converted their fifth match point after 81 minutes to secure a deserved victory.
