Dresdner SC's volleyball players narrowly lost their last away match of the Bundesliga main round 2:3 (24:26, 25:13, 26:24, 18:25, 10:25) at Ladies in Black Aachen. Nevertheless, the team from the city on the Elbe can no longer be displaced from third place ahead of the final matchday against Schwerin.
In a fiercely contested match, the Dresden team had already led 2:1 after sets in front of 1173 spectators, but the Ladies in Black fought back with a lot of penetration in attack and a self-sacrificing block and court defense and managed to equalize.
The team of DSC Head Coach Alexander Waibl, who was still without injured regulars Sarah Straube and Grace Frohling (both torn ligaments), was also unable to withstand the attacking power of Nicole Van de Vosse in particular (29 points) and Aachen's compact defense in the tie-break. The defeat was sealed after 117 minutes.
