The Dresden SC volleyball team started the second half of the Bundesliga season with a win. Coach Alexander Waibl's team lived up to its role as favorites and won 3:1 (25:23, 23:25, 25:22, 25:18) in a hard-fought match at the Ladies in Black Aachen. The team from the city on the Elbe thus also defended their lead in the table.
From the outset, both teams fought an open exchange of blows in front of 1,020 spectators. However, the visitors from the Saxon state capital made numerous mistakes. They produced 22 service errors in this match alone.
While the DSC women had the better end in the final phase of the first set, they let a four-point lead (21:17) slip away in the second period. The third set was also contested for a long time. However, Dresden stabilized after the substitution of top scorer Marta Levinska and, after powerful serves by captain Sarah Straube at the end of the fourth period, the visitors were able to celebrate their eighth win in nine games after 104 minutes.
