The Dresden SC volleyball players can continue to dream of the cup final in Mannheim. Alexander Waibl's team beat VfB Suhl Lotto Thüringen 3:0 (28:26, 25:22, 25:18) in a hard-fought match in the quarter-finals to advance to the semi-finals. Their opponents in the next round will not be determined until the draw on Sunday evening.
The Bundesliga leaders got off to a somewhat nervous start in front of 2473 spectators in their home arena and made a few easy mistakes against the well-prepared visitors. As a result, the VfB women were able to open up a clear gap. However, led by the strong performance of Lorena Lorber Fijok, the DSC women fought their way back point by point.
