The handball players of SC DHfK Leipzig are moving to Dresden for the quarter-final of the DHB Cup against TBV Lemgo-Lippe. As the Quarterback Immobilien Arena at home is occupied by another event on December 17, the match will be played at 7 p.m. in the state capital's BallsportArena.
The fact that Lemgo, of all teams, is the last hurdle before the Final 4 in Cologne pleases handball fans from Leipzig. Lemgo was the very first major opponent against which SC DHfK was allowed to compete after its reestablishment in 2007. On September 19, 2007, the visitors traveled with the current coach Florian Kehrmann and the four other newly crowned world champions Michael Kraus, Carsten Lichtlein, Sebastian Preiß and Lars Kaufmann and won 37:21.
