Volleyball cup winners Dresdner SC will play against champions SSC Palmberg Schwerin in the Supercup on October 4 for the first title of the coming season. The DSC secured the rights to host the event, it was announced at a press conference. It is also a rematch of last season's play-off final, which the club from Mecklenburg won in three games.
For the team of DSC coach Alexander Waibl, it is the chance to win the Super Cup in their home arena for the second time since 2021. The team from Schwerin, which won the Supercup four times in a row from 2017 to 2020, is aiming to lift the trophy for the first time in five years.
"The Margon Arena has already provided a fantastic volleyball atmosphere in the past playoffs. We are sure that it will also provide a great stage for the Supercup and that the fans will experience spectacular volleyball and a thrilling event to kick off the season," said Kim Oszvald-Renkema, Managing Director of the Volleyball Bundesliga (VBL).
