The Niners Chemnitz remain hot on the heels of league leaders Bayern Munich in the German Basketball League. The club from Saxony won its game at penultimate-placed Hakro Merlins Crailsheim on Saturday by a commanding 97:82 (42:39). Wesley van Beck played the biggest part in the team's 19th win of the season with 24 points. DeAndre Lansdowne and Kevin Yebo scored 14 points apiece, while Kaza Kajami-Keane (13) and Jeff Garrett (10) also scored in double figures. KeAndre Cook (16), James Murray-Boyles (14) and Fabian Bleck (12) scored the most points for Crailsheim.
However, the visitors initially had major problems against the relegation candidates. Crailsheim was still 52:49 in front in the 24th minute. Chemnitz managed to turn the game around with a 14:0 run to 63:52 in the 28th minute and did not let this lead slip from its grasp, especially since the home side conceded 23 turnovers and the club from Saxony just eight.
